$ 1,000
ABSOLUTE DIVISION
The No-Gi Absolute winner takes home $1,000 CASH PRIZE
along with a NAGA Championships Belt!
ADULT NO-GI & GI ON SATURDAY
KIDS &
TEENS NO-GI & GI ON SUNDAY
In the past,
competitors had to weigh in on Friday then compete over
a two day span. We realize that this is not only
inconvenient but also expensive. To make things easier
and more affordable, all adult divisions (Gi & No-Gi)
will go on Saturday, and all kids/teens divisions (Gi &
No-Gi) will go on Sunday. This schedule will allow
competitors to enjoy more time at the Arnold Sports
Festival or whatever else you have that weekend that is
important to you.
WEIGH-INS
and REGISTRATION OPTIONS
In the past, Friday
was the only day competitors could register and
weigh-in. This made registering and weighing-in
difficult for children and adults who attend school,
work late, and those traveling from great distances.
While the option to weigh-in on Friday is still
available, we are also adding the option to weigh-in and
register the morning you compete. This means you can
weigh-in and compete in both gi & no-gi competition all
in one day (Adults on Saturday, Kids & Teens on
Sunday). You are not required to weigh-in on Friday.
Please have a photo ID on hand when weighing in and when
competing.
ARNOLDS ARE
NATIONALLY RANKED
This year’s Arnold
Grappling Championships will be nationally Ranked!
Ranked is a submission grappling rating system where
points are earned and accumulated towards a national
grappling title. More details can be found at
nationallyranked.com.
NO-GI and
GI RULES
The Arnold
Grappling Championships No-Gi divisions will follow NAGA
submission grappling rules. The Gi divisions will
follow rules set by the Confederation of Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJ). Please make sure to attend the rules
meetings at 10:00 a.m. before the start of each day’s
divisions. More details can be found at the NAGA
website: nagafighter.com.
SANDBAGGERS
BEWARE
We work diligently to prevent
"sandbagging", or the practice of fighting down skill
levels to ensure one takes home an award. The NAGA has
been working with RANKED to track all fighters and
ranked grappling events to produce true "national
standings." A by-product of these standings is our
knowledge of who has competed, and at which level. At
the Arnold Grappling Championships, front door personnel
will use RANKED data to determine whether or not
individuals who have fought in past events belong in a
higher skill level (i.e. placed 1st at a
prior NAGA event for that skill level). We feel very
confident that sandbaggers will be forced to fight in
their appropriate divisions.
