CHANGES
MADE BY NAGA TO ENHANCE YOUR COMPETITION EXPERIENCE
NAGA’s mission at every event is to run our events as efficiently as
possible. For this tournament and all future NAGA events in Florida,
NAGA has implemented new practices that will aid in making the
tournaments run faster and end earlier.
-
Running all Adult divisions on
Saturday, and all Children & Teen divisions on Sunday.
-
Running 12 consecutive rings instead
of 8 or 10.
-
Having extra staff to assist in the
registration process which means, faster registration. Having extra
ring and security workers which means, rings running more
efficiently and a better viewing experience for spectators.
Even
with these enhancements, a large turnout of competitors will mean later
division start times then those estimates listed above. It is difficult
to precisely predict when your division will begin. As a general rule,
get there early and see the ring schedule for estimated division start
times. Please be prepared to stay the day, especially if you are
competing in both No-Gi and Gi Divisions.
SANDBAGGERS BEWARE
NAGA
works diligently to prevent "sandbagging", or the practice of fighting
down skill levels to ensure one takes home an award. Front door
personnel will use RANKED data to determine whether or not individuals
who have fought in past events belong in a higher skill level (i.e.
placed 1st at a prior NAGA event).
RANKED EVENT
All NAGA
events are part of the nationwide ranking system entitled RANKED. Our
goal is to determine who the best grapplers in the country are for
various age, gender, and skill levels. This tournament will be
nationally ranked so do not miss your opportunity to gain points towards
a true national title. Visit
nationallyranked.com for more details.
