Before I get into the actual fights, it’s important to note the rules that are different than the MA rules that we are used to.
They are allowing all slams, as long as you’re not spiking you opponent on his head.
No kicking from either fighter when either fighter is grounded. (MA allows kicks to the body)
The main card will fight three rounds, three minutes each, and the title fights will be three rounds, four minutes each.
The most important rule is the new blood rule. If a fighter is cut, his corner is allowed to go with the doctor to check the cut, and the other fighter can talk to his corner as well. Also, if the doctor allows the fight to continue, there is no extra time given to stop the bleeding. Also, the fight will only be stopped if the cut is dangerous.
Dan O’Keefe (CMFC) vs. Josh Brown (Mendes)
Dan clinches and uses double under hooks to get the takedown. He gets stuck in half guard, and has to fight out of a guillotine. After some scrambling they are up for a second, but end up on the mat with Dan again in half guard. He passes to mount and lands a flurry of strikes before Josh ties him up. With ten seconds left he goes for an arm bar, and simply runs out of time.
Round 2-Dan gets a quick takedown into guard to open the round. Josh is working a triangle but is having trouble locking his legs up. He switches to an arm bar, but Dan counters and ends up in mount. He throws some big shots, and a few land flush. The round ends in this position.
Round 3-Josh tries to strike but is again taken down to start the round and is quickly mounted. Dan is landing from the mount and every time he seems to be a couple punches away from a stoppage Josh ties him up. He lands a few more punches as time expires.
Winner: Dan O’Keefe (Unanimous Decision)
Gary Bonenfant (Murphy’s) vs. Matt Andrews (Tengu)
They exchange punches into a clinch, and Matt takes him down into an open guard. Matt pushes through to mount lands a ton of punches for the TKO win.
Winner: Matt Andrews (TKO)
Corey Peterson (CMFC) vs. James McGovern (Elite)
James gets a quick takedown, but they scramble right back up, then right back down. Corey gets the mount, lands a couple strikes, then is pushed off. They are moving around like crazy and Corey again gets the mount, but this time he is able to land enough punches to get the stoppage.
Winner: Corey Peterson (TKO)
Tony Barber vs. Nuke (Mendes)
Nuke lands some huge punches to open the fight. Tony gets a takedown, but is rolled. Tony quickly secures an arm bar, and it looks bad. Tony is now working a triangle, but Nuke escapes. Nuke is landing some big punches from the top. He takes the back without hooks and is unable to capitalize before the round ends.
Round 2-Tony lands a couple punches followed by a couple leg kicks from Nuke. Tony takes him down into guard and is working a pass. They scramble up and Tony lands some decent punches. Nuke lands a couple more kicks to the legs, and Tony takes him down and mounts. Nuke rolls him before the round ends.
Round 3-Tony lands some good kicks to the body and punches to the head and looks to have Nuke in trouble. Tony takes him down and takes his back. He quickly secures the RNC for the win.
Winner: Tony Barber (Submission via RNC)
John Champa (Blazing Sun) vs. Jed Tinlin (Boneyard)
I didn’t think it was possible to find a guy as scary looking as Jed, but John comes close. Both are huge, and both look mean as hell. They clinch right up, and Jed picks him up and slams him down. Jed is landing some big punches from the top. Champa is defending, but most of Jed’s big lefts are landing. Jed lands some big body shots. As John works an arm bar, Jed counters and passes. He takes the back as the round ends.
Round 2-Jed takes him right down and is landing with both hands. Champa sweeps to mount and is landing some huge shots! As Champa goes for an arm lock, Jed rolls him over and works an arm lock of his own. Champa quickly counters and gets the mount. Champa lands a couple huge rights but is rolled as time expires. Amazing round from both guys.
Round 3-They clinch right up and Jed takes him down. Champa nearly has a triangle but Jed defends. Champa goes for a kimura and nearly has it. Champa uses it to roll Jed, but loses the arm. As time expires Champa nearly finishes another arm lock.
Winner: John Champa (Unanimous Decision)
JP Cristini (Savage) vs. Justin Hammerstrum (Tengu)
JP throws a few punches, and tries to throw Justin, but ends up on the bottom. They scramble up and Justin performs a lateral drop into mount! He quickly secures an arm bar and nearly finishes it. JP escapes one, but ends up in another! It is badly hyper-extended and JP is just taking the pain. As Justin tries to tighter it up, JP again escapes. This fight is amazing. The round ends with JP fighting off another arm bar.
Round 2- Justin takes him right down and takes his back. Justin is working the RNC but JP is defending. Justin is now landing some little punches to the side of the head. None are doing a ton of damage, but JP is not defending himself so the fight is stopped.
Winner: Justin Hammerstrum (TKO)
Nate LaMotte (OPC-3) vs. Nelson Mello (Mendes)
They clinch right up and Nate is working for a takedown. He gets him down into mount and is raining down punches. Nelson is working hard to get out, but Nate is strong as an ox and isn’t making it easy for him. Nelson works a foot lock that doesn’t come close and now Nate is in north/south. They scramble back to their feet and Nate slams him down hard and it looked to stun him. Nate lands several clean, unanswered punches and the fight is stopped.
Winner: Nate LaMotte (TKO)
Jason Dublin (Shermans/BTT) vs. Mike Campbell (Elite)
The place is packed with Campbell fans and they are going crazy as he enters the ring. They are both landing huge punches as the fight opens and Mike looks to be landing more shots. Jay is working the clinch and is landing some knees. Jay takes him down into mount but Mike is so strong that Jay is having trouble getting enough space to strike. Mike turtles and Jay has his back, working the RNC. Mike escapes with ten seconds left and lands some HUGE knees, then throws Jay to the mat as time expires.
Round 2-Mike lands a good punch to open the round and Jay fires right back. They’re clinched up and as Jay tries for an outside trip, Mike counters and ends up with top position. Jay works a quick arm bar and nearly finishes it. Mike ends up in mount briefly, but Jay rolls him.
Round 3-Mike lands the better of the punches in the opening exchange. Mike takes him down and is landing some little punches from the guard. As Jay goes for a triangle Mike counters and lands some really big punches. They are stood up and Jay lands the better punches until Mike takes him down. Mike quickly mounts as the time expires.
Winner: Mike Campbell (Split decision 30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
Kevin Roddy (Rhino) vs. Darryl MarcAurele (Strikezone)
Roddy lands a body kick, then pulls guard. He is working an omo plata but Darryl defends and pounds from the top. Roddy is taking some punches, but is working hard for submissions from the bottom. They scramble to their feet and Darryl uses double unders and dumps him down. Darryl slams his way out of an arm bar. The round ends with Darryl on top.
Round 2- Roddy lands a good combination, then jumps guillotine. He looks to have it deep, but Darryl fights his way out. They are stood back up, and Darryl slams him hard. Roddy secures a tight triangle and is also working the arm bar. It looks very deep. Darryl eventually taps.
Winner: Kevin Roddy (Submission via triangle choke)
Josh Lydell (Invicta) vs. Alex Karalexis (Cobra Kai)
Josh lands a leg kick and Alex fires a huge right that drops Josh. Alex follows up with a bunch of punches, but they end up right back on their feet. Alex again drops him, but Josh gets his guard. Alex tries to pass and ends up on his back. Josh quickly counters and they are back on their feet. Alex picks him up and drops him down hard. Alex lands a couple punches and again takes his back. Alex lands a really hard right and starts to work the RNC. Josh is bleeding from the mouth and eventually taps from the RNC.
