Pre-registration is now closed. You can still register/weigh-in at the following times:

Friday from 5-8PM at Essex County College
Saturday beginning at 8:00AM (kids can weigh-in after 2:00PM)
Sunday beginning at 8:00AM

Some frequently asked questions:
Do I need to be part of a team to compete? No you do not. You can compete as an individual.
Can I compete in multiple skill levels or weight classes? No. You are allowed to compete in one skill level and one weight class. You can compete in a gi and a no-gi division.
When will my division begin? Please remember that the schedule posted is an estimate, and a safe one at that. We do not want competitors to miss their division. There will be 12 rings running concurrently, but it is still difficult to get a 100% accurate start time for your particular division.
How many people will be in my division? With over 500 pre-registered competitors, this tournament will be huge. We will not know how many competitors will be in each division until the brackets are made.
Will merchandise be available? With nearly 10 vendors, including NAGA, plenty of gear will be available for you to purchase.
If I am registered as a competitor for one day, is there a charge to be a spectator for the other day? Yes. You will need to purchase a spectator ticket to view that day's event.

WEIGH-IN ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY
NAGA will be offering all competitors the option of registering and weighing in the night BEFORE the tournament!  If you can’t make it on Friday, you can register and weigh-in anytime on Saturday. Friday weigh-ins and registration will be at Essex County College (the venue) from 5-8PM.

60 CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS AWARDED
NAGA is the only grappling tournament in the world to award 60 CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS to its Children, Teen, Adult, Masters, Directors and Executive Expert Division Winners.  All other 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners take home octagon medals.

OUR BEST VENUE EVER
We have acquired one of the best venues in the Northeast, the Essex County College Gymnasium.  The venue is awesome, with seating for over 5,000.  The gym is located in Newark, NJ, just southwest of New York City. Mass transit can easily take competitors from NYC to the venue without having to step in or out of a car.  For those driving, we have acquired a HUGE parking lot directly across the street which holds over 1,000 vehicles.  This is a new facility with huge bathrooms and changing areas.

ADULT GI & NO-GI ON SATURDAY  |  KIDS & TEENS ON SUNDAY
Due to the large amount of competitors this tournament attracts each year, we have expanded the tournament into two days.  All adults (both gi and no-gi) will compete on Saturday, all children and teens (gi & no-gi) will compete on Sunday.  This will allow each day’s event to finish at a reasonable time.

NEW DIVISIONS
New divisions such as Teens Novice and Women's Master have been added. Please check registration form for details.

SANDBAGGERS BEWARE
NAGA works diligently to prevent "sandbagging", or the practice of fighting down skill levels to ensure one takes home an award. The NAGA has been working with RANKED to track all fighters and ranked grappling events to produce true "national standings." A by-product of these standings is our knowledge of who has competed and at which level. Front door personnel will use RANKED data to determine whether or not individuals who have fought in past events belong in a higher skill level (i.e. placed 1st at a prior NAGA event).

RANKED EVENT
All NAGA events are part of the nationwide ranking system entitled RANKED. Our goal is to determine who the best grapplers in the country are for various age, gender and skill levels. NAGA NEW ENGLAND will be nationally Ranked. Don't miss your opportunity to gain points towards a true National Title. You can visit www.nationallyranked.com for current rankings, further details about Ranked, and to sign up.
